1. Overview
Smiles Create is a children’s creativity website operated by Steven Zaney. This policy explains what personal information may be collected through the website, why it may be used and the choices available to visitors.
We aim to collect as little personal information as reasonably possible. Newsletter subscriptions and adult contact enquiries submitted through the website are processed using Sender.
2. Information we may collect
We may collect information that an adult chooses to provide, such as:
- an adult’s email address and consent choices submitted through a newsletter form;
- a name, email address, enquiry topic and message submitted through the contact form;
- basic technical information needed to keep the website and forms secure and working, such as browser type, approximate device information and server logs.
The Matching Pairs and Wordsearch games can save a best time in the visitor’s browser. This information stays on that device and is not used to create a player account or identify a child.
We do not ask children to create accounts, subscribe to emails or submit personal information.
3. Children’s privacy
The website is designed to be enjoyed by children with the involvement of a parent, carer, teacher or other responsible adult. Contact and newsletter forms are intended for adults only.
Please do not send a child’s full name, contact details, school, precise location, photographs or other identifying information. If we learn that personal information has been submitted directly by a child without appropriate adult involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
4. How information may be used
Information may be used to:
- reply to adult enquiries;
- send updates that an adult has actively requested;
- deliver requested resources;
- maintain, secure and improve the website;
- meet legal obligations and prevent misuse.
Newsletter emails are sent only where an adult has made a clear choice to subscribe. Every marketing email should include a way to unsubscribe. Contact-form enquiries are not treated as permission to send marketing emails. We do not sell personal information.
6. Cookies, local storage and external services
The website does not currently use advertising cookies or a separate website-analytics service. The games use browser local storage to remember best times on the visitor’s own device. Sender’s embedded forms may use necessary cookies, local storage or similar technologies to display and secure the forms and process submissions.
See the Cookies Policy for more information. If analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking is added later, this policy and the choices offered to visitors will be updated first.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including asking for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy, and objecting to certain uses. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
You can raise a concern with the relevant data-protection authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
8. Contact and changes
For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact page or email hello@smilescreate.com.
This policy may be updated when the website’s services change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
